ReplyDeleteYour first quote is such a great selection. I feel we have to be for selfless in this profession for the benefit of the children. A lot of times I hear parents say "teachers don't understand because they aren't parents" While I think being a parent give you a little bit more of a better understanding of what it means to truly put yourself aside for a child I do not think it is neccessary to be a teacher. I think 99% of us who decide to travel down this road want a much deeper meaning in life though teaching children. And it's true even by the Code of Ethics that any and every decision we make needs to be to the best interest of the child. Thank you for sharing this quote! I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDelete"I always appreciate when early childhood staff and administrators can suspend judgment long enough to try to understand a perspective that may not be theirs. That's an important first step to getting in tune with families.” Janet Men-Gonzalez
ReplyDeleteI also picked this quote by loise derma-sparks because she is so passionate and it is obvious in the way she speaks about her experiences with children. I aspire to have that much passion for my work.
